Multi-utility: water/gas
Multi-utility solutions for electric, water & gas
EnergyAxis Is the right solution.
EnergyAxis’ world-leading capabilities for the integration and sound management of critical natural resources, with features such as utilization monitoring and leak detection, can make management simpler and more cost-effective for your utility.
Our technology allows you to significantly cut costs, reduce exposure and minimize the resources required for managing your multi-utility AMI or AMR deployment. EnergyAxis solutions are available for any combination of electric, gas and water utilities, allowing you to efficiently manage the process through a single partner.
As the world leader in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automated Meter Reading (AMR) systems and solutions, EnergyAxis can provide the most effective single utility system or provide a combined multi-utility solution for any Investor Owned, Municipal or Regionally Owned Cooperative utility. We understand that each utility has unique challenges and requirements, and to meet your demands, we have developed open-ended systems that are field-proven.
EnergyAxis– When electric, water and gas services converge
In addition to metering, sensors and controls for electric service areas, EnergyAxis offers communicating modules for all of the most popular water and gas meters in use today. Modules can be factory-installed on water or gas meters, or installed in the field for gas meters.
In its default configuration, the EA_Water module transmits data every four hours for at least 20 years. Each transmission contains the last 24 intervals of register reads and several status flags. Collection of hourly interval data is critical to such important applications as the detection of leaks, conservation violations, and pipe bursts. The EA_MS head-end automatically collects this important interval data on a daily basis and displays leak detection warnings, for example, on the user’s dashboard. In a drive-by method for gathering interval data for water, the utility may not be aware of the leak for up to 30 days.
EA_Gas modules provide consumption data for a programmable “gas day.” In every meter reading transmission, gas modules send total consumption data as well as interval consumption data for each of the last 24 hours. Like the EA_Water module, the EA Gas module by default transmits data every four hours for at least 20 years. Each transmission contains the last 24 intervals of index reads. Every reading also includes any tilt and tamper indications to help identify potential theft of service. Modules are available to fit virtually every current gas meter model along with the majority of common models found in service: nearly 100 meter models are compatible with the EA Gas module.
Future-proof: the EA Gas module can be updated over-the-air. This means that future functionality can be added to the gas module hardware via network or local software download providing protection of the utility investment in these devices.
TRACE®– The cost-effective gas-only solution
Elster's TRACE is an AMR system that uses two-way, RF communications to specify and collect gas meter data. The system includes transponders that process individual meter data and mobile interrogators that communicate with transponders to identify the required data, collect it from the transponder, and provide it to the route management software. TRACE efficiently processes and transfers meter data to your utility company's customer information system (CIS) providing flexible and accurate billing information. Two-way communications enable TRACE to deliver more data more efficiently than typical AMR systems. Benefits include more detailed data and faster route completion.
evolution™– The next level of water AMI efficiency
With our fixed network evolution AMR and AMI System, water utilities
can now offer higher levels of efficiency,
conservation and customer
service. The system flexibility allows evolution to adapt to any
indoor, outdoor, rural or
urban scenario, and ensures the on-demand delivery of time-critical data to your utility by integrating cutting-edge functional advancements along with two-way wireless communications. Our wide area network (WAN) design provides long-range capabilities and non-mandatory line-of-sight operation, and enables remote endpoint configuration such
as valve control, shutoff, routing and installation. As the water industry
evolves, we continue to invest in innovative technology, groundbreaking approaches and unsurpassed metering intelligence. For
